In both 400 B.C. and 77 A.D. Respected Ancient Writers Report of 'Unicorns' They Saw Which Sound Quite Different Than Known Creatures of Today, Such As Rhinos!

Elasmotherium...6' tall, 13' to 15' long, about 70% heavier than today's rhinos.  They are one possible candidate for the creature referred to as a Unicorn.  Other fossil creatures, more antelope in appearance, have been found, but are reportedly written off by science as single-horned by mutation.

As for the ancient Earth idea, we know where the Bible stands:  Earth should be about 6,000 years old right now.  While the Bible doesn't allow for us to know the exact age (I don't see how it does, anyway) it also doesn't leave too much wiggle room.  I don't believe it allows for an Earth that is 6,500 years old or 5,500 years old.  Not if it is an accurate book, meant to be taken literally in most historical respects, and I personally believe that the Bible is very accurate and trustworthy.

But, scientists are always trying to write God out of His own script.  They speak of billions of years ago and of 66 million years ago and of ice ages that were 12,000 years ago, or similar, when giant animals roamed before becoming extinct.  Well, OK you wise scientists...you can always just change your tune whenever contradicting information comes in.  You can just try to weave the new info into your old story, because your story is allowed to change...something the Bible does not really do.

Take unicorns, for instance.  They are spoken of in Numbers chapter 23 and 24 of the Bible; in some translations the name 'unicorn' is used.  They are called 'strong'.  A beast or animal with power, with physical strength, apparently!  But that creature, whatever it was, reportedly died out many thousands of years ago, scientists generally say.  One good candidate for the ancient vestigal human myths about unicorns is is the prehistoric Elasmotherium Sibericum, scientist sometimes say.  But again, it died off many thousands of years ago.  Right?

Maybe not so fast, there, scientists!  Some of you science people know that there are descriptions by Western historians that lived 2400 to 1900 years ago which seem to possibly be talking about eye witness sightings of pretty large, one horned creatures that are not among today's rhino species, if they were even ever rhino related species at all.  In some cases the description of the coloration of the creatures is enough to verify that we are not talking about modern rhinos.

Here is from the Greek writer and physician named Ctesius of Cnidus, in a writing called "Indica", about the region referred to as India in his day.  It includes a much greater area of land than today's nation of India, and he writes from about the 400 B.C. time frame:

"In India there are wild asses as large as horses, or even larger. Their body is white, their head dark red, their eyes bluish, and they have a horn in their forehead about a cubit [approx. 18 inches] in length. The lower part of the horn... is quite white, the middle is black, the upper part... is a very flaming red."

End quote.

Ctesius also goes on to add, per A.I.:

But Ctesius was not the only one who wrote of possible real life well known unicorn-like creatures, and some were still alive and well almost 500 years later.

The Roman writer named Pliny the Elder lived about 1,950 years ago.   Here is what A.I. had to offer about his description of a possible unicorn:

Pliny the Elder, a Roman writer who died trying to rescue friends from an erupting Mt. Vesuvius, a man  who lived from about 23 A.D. to 79 A.D., made a mention in his writing titled Natural History, Book 8, chap 31, of a creature with a horn in the center of its forehead.  In another place he wrote about a creature with a horn growing out of its nose...like a rhinoceros...it probably was a rhinoceros.   But this is another creature that is described separately and differently.  So Pliny knew what a rhino was, but this is not how he described rhinos, which  he knew as rhinocerous.  :

(Book VIII, XXXI), the 'monoceros' is described as the, "...fiercest animal... which in the rest of the body resembles a horse, but in the head a stag, in the feet an elephant, and in the tail a boar, and has a deep bellow, and a single black horn three feet long projecting from the middle of the forehead. They say that it is impossible to capture this animal alive."

End quote.

And so, just as there are descriptions of apparent dinosaurs from all over the world during the last 3,000 to even 500 years (go to s8int.com to see a great deal of extremely compelling evidence for that!) so there are also descriptions of other 'mythical' creatures, such as the unicorn,  that scientists would have you believe died out tens of thousands of years ago. (speaking of their commonly mentioned date for the die out of elasmotherium.)

You who love science (and I am one of those who applauds many scientific discoveries and advances) may do well to trust them less when it comes to history and dating.  Much less, in my opinion.  We have discovered that the anti-Bible fix was in, a sort of war against the Bible as a trustworthy source, at the very top levels, anyway, in our universities, our medicine, an almost Satanic corruption in politics, banking, and general public education to name a few areas of our society.  And along with that, there were always people trying to say that there is an active war against the Biblical timeline; it had seemed to me to be more conspiracy when I first heard those allegations, but so many other conspiracy accusations have turned out to be true that I now am quite open to the possibility that there is an active effort to distort the planetary timeline.   Let each person use their honest best discernment about these things, right?  Don't lose faith in Jesus because of claims by science because science changes its understandings on a fairly regular basis.   They try to make it sound like a virtue...but have you ever noticed that the new revisions to not often seem to support God as being the Creator of the Universe?  New findings show that the Universe seems to bear witness to the actual chapters and verses and content of the Bible, and the Bible bears witness that God is the Creator, and that Jesus is His only Son and our only Savior from going to the Hell that our sins so richly qualify us for.

We all have that friend, relative or acquaintance that can be such a trustworthy source on most subjects, but not about the size of the fish they have reeled in or their romantic conquests, or who knows what else.  In my view, science is that friend...growingly accomplished in establishing the details concerning many points of science, but not so reliable when it comes to the source or the age of the Creation around us.  Don't let science steer your soul away from Jesus of Nazareth, the Saviorof Mankind and the true Son of the Almighty God made into human flesh, true Son of God and truly a man, to walk among us, teach us, and then die for the atonement of the sins of those who choose Him as their Lord, repent of their sins and then get baptized in His name, and then follow Him in faith and obedience all of their days on Earth.
