BRICS without 'straw (without choice?)' or (without cash?)...is it coming our way?
The general contention of this article is that the times of Moses leading into and immediately preceding the 10 plagues might have also been meant to be prophetic to our present times in a few specific ways, now in August of 2025 as I'm writing this. (And also now in August 2025 there are internet 'prophets' saying the rapture looks to occur in about Sept 22nd or 23rd of 2025, but their reasoning is not so bad at a glance. Still, so far everyone who has hazarded a prediction on the rapture date saw the date come and go without the rapture occurring. But it will occur one day.)
Here are ways that the times of Moses just before fleeing Egypt with the Israelites have some similarities to our times. The people of God, the Israelites, were punished via the use of 'bricks' in Moses' day. That same word, phonetically...BRICS...is also a presently proposed type of currency at this moment in 2025. Pharaoh (which sounds like FRO, the acronym for Federal Reserve Organization which is also, ever so coincidentally, involved with modern US currency) told the Israelites/Hebrews, when they wanted more freedom to go out and give God the sacrifices and worship that were His due, that he could not allow them to go and do that. Pharaoh also decreed that instead of being provided with the straw they needed to mix in with the clay that they manufactured Egyptians bricks with, they would now have to go find and gather their own straw to make those bricks...just as many bricks as before, by the way...a crushing amount of extra work. Here's an oddity. In Hebrew, one of the words used for 'straw' is qach (specific to the part of the grain plant still sticking out of the ground after you cut the seed bearing part off) which is pronounced as 'cash'. It is pronounced like the word 'cash' that we Americans use for our paper money. Here is a bit about that from the internet. Ignore the yellow coloring:
"In Hebrew, "straw" can be represented by a few different words, depending on the context. תֶּ֫בֶן (teben) generally arefers to straw or chaff, especially the cut-up stalks used as fodder. קַשׁ (qash) more specifically refers to stubble, the coarser residue remaining in the field after harvesting. There's also חֲשַׁשׁ (chashash) which can be translated as chaff or dry grass, often used to emphasize ephemerality or destruction."
End quote.
In some Bible translations at least, it says that the 'straw' they ended up having to go gather was specifically the 'stubble' left in the fields...specifically the qash. From Exodus 5, NIV translation:
10 Then the slave drivers and the overseers went out and said to the people, “This is what Pharaoh says: ‘I will not give you any more straw. 11 Go and get your own straw wherever you can find it, but your work will not be reduced at all.’” 12 So the people scattered all over Egypt to gather stubble to use for straw.

Additionally, God gave Moses an important 'mark' of sorts involving his hand during these days; God told Moses to show this hand MARK or miracle to his Israelite people so that they would know that Moses spoke for God. If Moses stuck his hand in his cloak and took it out, it was white and seemed to have leprosy. If he stuck the leprous hand in his cloak again and took it out, the flesh was healthy. He could do that repeatedly. God gave this sign to him so the Israelite people would know that the power of God was involved now in addressing their oppressed situation as slaves and that Moses was to be heeded. In the end times there will be a wicked sort of MARK that goes on the hand (or face) called the Mark of the Beast which will allow you the power to buy and sell (Christians are forbidden to take this MARK under any circumstances what so ever. Do, and you lose your salvation through Jesus...you will then apparently go to Hell.) That Mark is not mandatory in our time, but they already do have implantable RFID chips that can be injected into the hand or where ever, and they are perfectly able to facilitate buying or selling at a cash register, or proving your I.D. so that you could be cleared to buy and sell. Is that important, or coincidental? Is Moses' hand sign forecasting the Mark of the Beast / possible RFID sort of hand sign? Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe it has more to do with forecasting the nail holes in Jesus hand, which were a sign that He really was Jesus and had been brought back to life. Or maybe neither...maybe this conjecture is off the mark.
Another possible connection is that Moses was told to throw down his staff (a staff is a symbol of power and leadership, an object denoting authority) in front of Pharaoh, and it would become a snake. He did this and it became a snake. But then Pharaoh's two magicians (named Jannis and Jambres, followers of Belial, the Devil, per some sources.) showed that they could do this too; they threw down their two staffs and they too became snakes. But then the first snake, God's snake that He produced for Moses, ate the two magician's snakes that the magicians had conjured up. When Moses then reached down and took up God's victorious snake by the tail, it again became a staff, the symbol of ruling authority. This was a real event, but it also seems to foreshadow future events. One is this: a snake denotes sin, is symbolic of sin. Christ came down and became sin for us...so Christ became 'a snake' for us in a symbolic way. The Jews of Jesus' time were believers in the Law and the Prophets (two entities which identified and spoke of sin, just like the two snakes of the wizard in a way.) But when the Jews tried to oppose Jesus, he ended up being too powerful. Jesus successfully 'ate' the Law and the Prophets in a way? Then like Moses' snake, Jesus was taken up again to become a Heavenly authority beside His even greater Father. So that's one case where the reality and events of Jesus' earthly ministry were somewhat reflective of Moses' time before the 10 plagues. But there's another, maybe. (Big on the maybe part!) Donald Trump was elected for his first term and amazingly seemed to be a figure that was pretty much a part of the world system who paradoxically seemed to be possibly God-chosen and sent to oppose the world system. Maybe. Maybe not. Is that like a ruler (staff) belonging to God but worldly, having only recently been a big financial player in the dark world we have on this planet, trying to oppose the snakes of the New World Order? But then he was opposed by two powerful snakes of the dark world (Biden, but due to disability from age, really Obama, who visited the White House hundreds of times to be an advisor by some reports during Biden's Presidency) and they displaced Trump for one Presidential term. But then, Trump surprisingly got the better of them, to all appearances, and earned a second term (ate the two snakes that had opposed him?) and Trump became a 'ruler' (a staff of sorts, the President) again. So that whole strange turn of modern events could also possibly be reflective of the days of Moses immediately preceding the 10 plagues. If so, we are probably about to start having modern day plagues.
Are we in times right now that mirror those times of Moses when God swiftly and miraculously took His people away from disaster to save them? Are we very very close to seeing the future rapture of the church, the seal judgments, the trumpet judgments, and the bowl judgments? Are those very soon to come? Since the 10 plagues of Egypt preceded the escape of God's Israelites does that mean the 'plagues/judgments' of Revelation have to be endured prior to the rapture? Are we getting prophetic hints of that from the events of Moses day?
I have been happy as could be with the reports that the present President, Donald Trump Trump, is going after corruption and trying to stop wars. I am no political insider and have to interpret things through the various news and information outlets, but corruption can and will devour a nation from within. Powerful insider people say that you're just naive and don't know how the world works if you say such things, but God made it clear that He hates corruption and I'd certainly say He's a better authority on such things than top business moguls and politicians who might actually enjoy corruption due to knowing how to be end-recipients of its tainted fruits. So anyway, another oddity is that President Trump seems oddly focused here in mid August 2025 A.D. on getting a Nobel Peace Prize awarded to himself. He might deserve it too? So anyway, do you remember from Chemistry class in school that there is an element named Nobellium (No) which has an atomic weight of 259? 2 and 5 and 9 So what is book 2, chapter 5, verse 9 of the Bible? It is in chapter 5 of the Book of Exodus. It is smack dab in the middle of the Pharaoh ordering the already beleaguered people of God to make bricks without straw. (I do not believe President Trump is in on some collusion concerning this, by the way. I'm wondering if it might be a marker of the times we are in is all that I mean, though a more likely case is that it is purely coincidental.) But here it is to read again. I'll use BOLD on the exact verse from Exodus 2:
5 Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Let my people go, so that they may hold a festival to me in the wilderness.’”
2 Pharaoh said, “Who is the Lord, that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord and I will not let Israel go.”
3 Then they said, “The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Now let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God, or he may strike us with plagues or with the sword.”
4 But the king of Egypt said, “Moses and Aaron, why are you taking the people away from their labor? Get back to your work!” 5 Then Pharaoh said, “Look, the people of the land are now numerous, and you are stopping them from working.”
6 That same day Pharaoh gave this order to the slave drivers and overseers in charge of the people: 7 “You are no longer to supply the people with straw for making bricks; let them go and gather their own straw. 8 But require them to make the same number of bricks as before; don’t reduce the quota. They are lazy; that is why they are crying out, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’ 9 Make the work harder for the people so that they keep working and pay no attention to lies.”
13 The slave drivers kept pressing them, saying, “Complete the work required of you for each day, just as when you had straw.” 14 And Pharaoh’s slave drivers beat the Israelite overseers they had appointed, demanding, “Why haven’t you met your quota of bricks yesterday or today, as before?”

I get it that Nobellium is a really extraneous connection, but it's kind of interesting. But it's elemental symbol, NO, is strangely related to Egypt. NO is another name for Thebes, also called Waset, or more recently Luxor, and in derivational meaning has a connection to City of a Divine Staff or Scepter or Ruler. But again...really extraneous connections that probably weren't even intended.
Bricks...BRICS? Pharaoh...FRO? Qash...cash? Signs involving the hand...the Mark of the Beast that will be placed on the Hand or Forehead? Staffs that turn into snakes and devour each other...modern day rulers that oppose and devour each other? Imminent impending disasters of old that shortly afterward came to pass...imminent impending disasters in our day which are about to come to pass? If so we might soon be seeing a great deal of 'blood' or death, because the first plague of Egypt to come (Egypt being real back then but now more probably symbolic of the 'God denying or opposing or ignoring' parts of the world, and its governing systems?) was the Nile being turned into blood. Whether that will mean actual blood red water or just gigantic amounts of 'human blood', or even something else that is still to be seen. But I think it will indeed be some obvious visible sign, not some isolated event in some certain small location. It should be something relatable to blood or bloody waters and widely seen throughout the world probably, if a metaphorical replay of the plagues of Moses' day is sent our way in our present time.
New World Order types around the world, Globalists, are angling for a 'cash free' society in our day. Probably a very bad thing. Climate Change is supposed to terrify everyone into letting them leap forward and seize power and save us, I believe. Currently, American paper cash and coin visibly announces "In God We Trust", so do we want to go cashless? It is for the citizen to decide. Right now we can direct our government representatives as we wish to, but that is highly likely to end once the End Times start in earnest! A government can sort of seize control during real or manufactured emergencies. So, if the government happens to be a very bad government then they might be loathe to return the reigns of power to their citizens. It's been seen a lot of times in the past centuries. Governments do indeed sometimes go rogue against their citizens if corrupt enough people have infiltrated their ranks. Hopefully our US government still has a majority of high minded patriotic service minded types, and I do believe it still does here in August 2025 A.D. Our Democrat Party is terrifyingly corrupt, just insanely crooked...a true kleptocracy as they say. But right now they are not in power. They are trying very hard to misinform their way back into power, though, and God help us if we let them. They misdirect allocated tax money into every crooked deceptively labeled cause they can dream up. They are a genuine crime syndicate. I don't understand how they can still even draw voters towards their party. They are demonstrably an arm of the Globalist crime syndicate at this point. Something went wrong with them along the way and now they are so rotted out that only God could fix them I think. Republicans have some bad actors. Democrats scarcely have any good ones it sometimes seems. America needs to fight corruption tooth and nail and not quit until we are vastly improved in that regard, or we may have no hope to continue much further.
In our day there is undeniably a push by the New World Order/Federal Reserve Organization Satanic types to make us go 'cashless' in our American society; even world-wide the push for a cashless society is going great guns...a very multi-pronged wicked con-job. Digital control of citizen wealth is de facto control of the citizen in a great many respects. If you plan on forcing laws upon the citizens that the citizen is certainly not going to like, then being able to crush them financially from afar is a handy tool. If citizens are packing around a few thousand dollars in cash, such 'near total control' is not so easily or quickly accomplished. But if there is no such thing as cash, you can just electronically freeze citizen's bank accounts. It gives rogue governments a way to cause confusion, immobilization, etc., of difficult or resistive citizens or citizen groups. What government-gone-bad wouldn't like to have that sort of power at their fingertips? And remember, the American government wasn't designed to rule over the Christian people of America, but rather to serve their needs in accordance with their desires and to chart out reasonable and prudent future paths in keeping with the best interests of citizens invested with strong and normally unassailable personal rights. The government's job is to humbly and cheaply serve various citizen needs, not consolidate power and form cabals, not plot against the voter's desires. Governments are great when humbly and industriously bent to the citizens best interests. But they can become off-the-leash hazards to the welfare of their own nation once they begin to see themselves as servants of worldly powers of higher station than their own instead of servants to the people who elected them. An ideal politician or public servant would retire proud of their accomplishments on behalf of the people rather than the increase of their bank accounts. America is very fortunate to still have many politicians who see their role in that general light, but we have our crooks too, politicians and government employees that break our nations laws for profit or influence, and we need to put them out of their jobs whenever and wherever we find them.
We would no longer have paper currency that said "In God We Trust" on it if we go with all electronic currency. Having the words "In God We Trust" on all USA currency was counted as a very big deal by the legislators that voted to enact it into law (HR 619) in the mid 20th century. It was one way of worshiping our God and acknowledging that all of our national blessings were from His hand! Making us cashless would give the New World Order Satanics an obscene amount of power over all people everywhere on the planet. They could erase your savings and your financial worth with a keystroke from 5,000 miles away, and then, if you had no access to coin or cash to put in your pocket or purse and take to the store you couldn't buy anything, right?
So, again, there is a new currency called BRICS that some are trying to establish to rival or possibly displace the dollar. BRICS obviously sounds like 'bricks', and the Tower of Babel events from Genesis show us that God guides language development to whatever extent He wishes. If BRICS sounds like bricks, then of course it could be coincidence. But it could also be God tickling our brain to recognize the times and be prepared for them. The great organizer and controller of money in our time is the Federal Reserve Organization, or FRO, which if you pronounce those letters it sound significantly close to Pharoah, the ancient royal power on the Egyptian throne who made the Hebrews go without easy access to qash (straw!) which made their lives greatly more difficult. The idea in Moses' day was to overwork them so horribly, to bear down on them so heavily, that they would abandon the idea of taking time and effort to go out and worship their God and give God the sacrifices He deserved and desired.
I always thought it was a strange and intriguing detail that, in the Bible, Egypt used bricks to punish the Hebrews who were sort of on the edge of revolt, very tired of serving the world power (Egypt) who held sway over them, just worn out and beat down. Egypt (the Pharaoh) tried to make their life harder by saying 'You will still make just as many bricks, but now you have to go gather your own straw to mix in with the brick material.' Here it is from EXODUS 5:
15 Then the Israelite overseers went and appealed to Pharaoh: “Why have you treated your servants this way? 16 Your servants are given no straw, yet we are told, ‘Make bricks!’ Your servants are being beaten, but the fault is with your own people.”
17 Pharaoh said, “Lazy, that’s what you are—lazy! That is why you keep saying, ‘Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.’ 18 Now get to work. You will not be given any straw, yet you must produce your full quota of bricks.”
19 The Israelite overseers realized they were in trouble when they were told, “You are not to reduce the number of bricks required of you for each day.” 20 When they left Pharaoh, they found Moses and Aaron waiting to meet them, 21 and they said, “May the Lord look on you and judge you! You have made us obnoxious to Pharaoh and his officials and have put a sword in their hand to kill us.”
End quote.
Moses went and complained to God about this new requirement, asking Him why this new difficulty was being brought upon His struggling and oppressed Israelite Hebrew people. It also made Moses a very unpopular figure with his own people, the Hebrew slaves. It was after this that Moses and Aaron performed the miracle of the thrown down staff which turned into a snake and which ate the two snakes that Pharaoh's magicians produced in similar manner. And just after that Moses and Aaron performed the miracle of turning the Nile into a river of blood at God's command, making all of Egypt suffer for drinkable water, thus kicking off the 10 plagues of Egypt that resulted in the eventual freedom of God's people from Egypt. Should we be seeing red water everywhere around our planet soon?
What is BRICS? Here is an internet comment on that question:
The BRICS is a forum for cooperation among a group of leading emerging economies. The BRICS includes 10 countries - Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russian Federation, South Africa, United Arab Emirates. End quote.
Initially the letters B R I C S were an acronym drawn from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Aftica. But now, more countries have taken an interest. And there is talk of a BRICS currency that might one day soon replace the American Dollar as the World Reserve Currency.
Is BRICS good or bad? All I can say is that on the one hand, there is always a new small king wishing they were a bigger king and angling to become one. There is always a new power rising and wanting its day in the sun. And secondly, on the other hand, if you want people to keep playing ball with you, you have to play fair. If the American dollar is a monetary entity that is to remain useful to the world and easy enough and painless enough for them to basically embrace using, then America better keep the interests of all involved players in mind as it persues its monetary policies. If America does that, then there probably won't be too much impetus for other nations to go through the work of reinventing the wheel and giving up use of the American dollar. But if the nations feel mistreated, exploited or slighted (or if some hostile entity can stir them up and make them feel like this is the case) then they will obviously have ever more inclination to break loose from using the dollar and continuing forward with some other currency.
Something should be mentioned again, though. The dollar has the words In God We Trust written on the bills and coins. It's an American law...HR 619...that the physical money must bear this phrase. It turns out that this is an important thing. It reminds every user about who our Maker is. Even if you are not Christian you can't help but see the phrase with your eyes from time to time. It is Earthly acknowledgement of the high and holy God Almighty who is the Maker of all things. All national blessings flow from Him. That's just a fact. He can end any 'empire' in an instant. The phrase is a type of praise and a mention of owed gratitude on the face of every fresh and clean or dirty, grimy little coin and bill that has been spent on who knows what sort of clean and unclean things since it was minted or printed. It is a praise, of sorts, from God's humans, despite that a dollar is not a very holy or clear thing. But right now, a dollar is a ubiquitous thing...it's used or accepted nearly everywhere. Dollars are VERY widely used, and so the phrase "In God We Trust" is VERY widely seen. So, Satan would rather the dollar was trashed and abandoned, one would guess. We are reminded in scripture that much of what goes on upon the Earth is the result (and some reflection of) spiritual wars in high places.
There are a lot of extremely smart people dedicated to managing the brand and usage of the American dollar, though. I am a little fish and have a pretty weak understanding of all those complexities. I have noticed an odd thing in the Bible, though: 3,400 years ago the Egyptians, when punishing their Hebrew slaves during the days when Moses was being used to smite them with plague after plague, made them create bricks without giving them the straw they needed to mix in with the brick-clay. It seemed mostly aimed at making them hate Moses, and hate the great difficulty of their life, to make them give up on their dreams of religious freedom to worship the True God by wearing them out physically and making their Hebrew lives a hell and a horror. Moses is a Jesus-like figure, a Jesus pre-cursor in some ways. Maybe this points to a worldly power making it so hard and miserable to listen to and follow Jesus that some will just give up trying. (It was to keep them from easily being able to go out in the countryside somewhere and worship Yahweh and make sacrifices to Yahweh their God as Moses kept telling the Pharaoh that the Israelites he led needed to do.) The poor Israelites had to go out and find their own straw to mix with the clay they made bricks with, but their prescribed quota of bricks was not lessened to allow for the time they now had to spend finding and gathering straw. They had to work much harder but were treated very strictly if they didn't 'feed the machine', so to speak, at the same rate they had been feeding it before. It kind of reminds a person of how people in the future must take the Mark of the Beast on their right hand (maybe just 'hand') or forehead or they will be cut off from buying or selling things, which will lead to many Christian hardships...and deaths. Rev chap 13 and 14.
Straw has several possible symbolic meanings. Straw evokes 'choice'. You draw straws to make it fair when you have to pick one person out of a crowd to get something, do something, or endure something. Whoever draws the short straw has to get it, do it, or endure it. It's an ancient way of choosing fairly. Straw is associated with choice. Of course it is also just straw, the left over stalk of a wheat or barley plant. It is useful for mixing in with the clay you're making your bricks with because the bricks are stronger and better, less brittle. But symbolically, straw can symbolize 'choice' I imagine. So the Hebrews were required to make bricks without being given straw. Perhaps it is saying that someday the people of God will 'make' bricks without 'choice'. Or perhaps they will 'be associated with BRICS' without having any choice in the matter. And since it was associated with the labor, the daily labor or the Israelites when they were trapped in the world system of Egypt, I was wondering if God's people will have to perform their labor and be electronically paid in BRICS currency and won't be given a choice...someday in the future. That is only speculation, of course.
So, really, I am just wondering if the emergence of the BRICS coalition and the possible BRICS currency might not be yet another sign of the end times drawing near. And I'm wondering if we should expect this currency to become mandatory - without choice - for at least some segment of the Judeo Christian population. It bothers me that there are so many signs of the end times that appear to be lurking about, and now BRICS is possibly making its way into the picture also. Will it collapse and never become anything? Or will it rise to prominence...a currency that avoids honoring God, which displaces a currency which does ostensibly honor God through the term "In God We Trust" being featured prominently upon it? As a people of God, a Christian people, it is one of our links with our God. We should not allow that link to be casually, as if incidentally, severed, I don't think. I'm pretty sure that when Jesus comes to rule there will be no more widely spread use of the dollar anymore. Maybe no America either, for that matter. Out with the old, in with the new. Like the colossus in the book of Daniel the old will probably be crushed to dust and blown away by the wind, replaced by the rock from above, uncut by human hands...Jesus!
But I am keeping my eye on the emergence of BRICS for the time being! We really have to get our US legislators to make a law that will never allow the implementation of a system similar to the Mark of the Beast system as described in Revelation 13 and 14. A law that says no Mark can ever be required on the right hand/arm (maybe either hand!) or on the forehead/face of Americans in order for them to participate in buying or selling or having equal access to provided resources or products, equal to the access of those who do or might choose to have such a 'Mark' worn, affixed, or injected, whether in a normal, wartime, or national emergency situation.
We in the United States should very quickly insist on this law being passed while we have the relatively conservative, relatively Christian majorities that we currently enjoy in the Executive, Judicial, and Legislative branches of our government in mid 2025 A.D. I feel it should be among our absolute highest Legislative priorities. We have a window of opportunity to at least try to say, "The Mark of the Beast is prophesied in God's word, so it is certainly coming, God is sovereign, there is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that could ever succeed against the Lord. But...it may not have to come to every nation. It may not have to ever come to American shores if we take action right now to outlaw the possibility of its adoption in our own American nation! God can overcome such efforts easily if He wishes, yet He might decide to see it as a wise and prudent display of the fear of God's wrath by the followers of His son Jesus, and He may let us preemptively outlaw the Mark of the Beast before it every can take root in our particular nation. Soon enough it will be too late to categorically outlaw the Mark of the Beast. But right now, we may still have time and it could be an easy and quick little bill to write and pass. You don't need to allocate funds. It either ends up being a silly but harmless little bill, or it ends up serving all people very very well indeed, preventing the death of perhaps millions or hundreds of millions. Great possible upside, almost no real downside. Write and call your congressman if that makes sense to you! It would be a shame to not take so effortless a step when it might end up serving us so very well!
